MGM bought by Sony.
Oh really? Only the rights of some movies or the whole company?

Bhai i never comment without any facts. Sony Pix has output deals with Lionsgate, Paramount, Disney, Sony Pictures and MGM.

Also do u know there is a big relation between Viacom, Sony, Paramount and HBO (Time Warner). In the pre Sony Pix era, HBO had exclusive rights of movies from Sony Stable , also Sony , NBC, Viacom had stakes in HBO Asia.
Sony and NBC gave up their stakes in 2008. Sony did it as they had to launch Pix Sony, NBC exit HBO Asia alliance - Hollywood Reporter
Also i guess u should know that Viaxom is the parent company of Paramount.
Output deals keep on changing as they r for fixed period which is why u will same movie being played on diff English Movie Chs.
Also FYI MGM Studios was acquired by Sony and right now Pix has a longterm deal with MGM for bond movies while other deals r short term
