As most HD channels have dolby digital sound. So my question is that how to use it because when I connect with iball 5.1 speaker no audio is received when on dolby digital but normal audio is received when audio is changed..

So juz help me out to get in dolby digital audio as well..

You need a audio receiver which can decode the Dolby and provide speaker out.

Any one is using OPTICAL output in 500GB HD DVR settop box?. I connected to home theater with optical cable. Whenever i switch channel, sound is not coming. Anyone else is facing this problem?

the problem is it cant able to decode DD.

Regular 5.1 speakers will not decode. Try some DVD player with digital audio in and 5.1 speaker out

In DD mode, stb will transmit the sound through either coaxial out or optical out. Thatswhy you are not getting sound.

To exp DD , u need 5.1 system or home theater with coaxial or optical input.

Using converter and normal audio mode doesnot make much difference.
