The supply of free video content by broadcasters to over-the-top (OTT) players is worrying direct-to-home (DTH) operators. This also leads to revenue cannibalisation and the playing field is loaded in favour of the OTT service providers as they are not subject to any taxation regime, some DTH companies feel. Videocon d2h has particularly objected to the OTT video platforms created by the broadcasters such as Hotstar and SonyLiv. Citing the example of Star India, which pulled out all its content from YouTube ahead of the launch of Hotstar in February, the DTH operator said that the ad-supported service is an outlet for Star India’s content.

Hmmm...... finally D2H speak about STAR INDIA's policy.

Seems like latest SS HD4 addition gave them a hard time tats a reason they broke their silence with another issue.

Generally viewers don't go for OTT unless they have access to DTH or cable as the experience is totally different.
So first preference would be DTH or cable.....I think viewers are directly or indirectly paying for OTT services also.

Things keep changing from time to time. Like old terrestrial to cable to digitization....In future there might be DVB-T or IPTV....So this is just an excuse...as internet is disruptive to many age old businesses.....

Also D2H can take lead in OTT by promoting good app & making attractive packages....
