Cisco acquired NDS which was providing firmwares (UI, encryption) to digital platforms. Also I have seen Cisco STB's being used for digital cable in India

Both of you are correct. Cisco boxes and NDS software both are two different things. It's not necessary that every Cisco box in market is having NDS software.

Actually I shouldn't have written Cisco. It's NDS software or firmware which is now available in D2H 6666 HD boxes.

dear respected brother....... please tell me one thing only.... if these things are so much easy then y in india only 50 channels are available in hd ?
y in pakistan we do not have any dth operator. tech must have available in pak too. so these things are uncertain and if u really do not like then u shall choose any other dth operator.

those people who are not happy with d2h - one thing i wud like to tell that customer service is best in d2h. i have compared it with dish tv, adtv and i must say that no one can beat d2h in terms of customer service.

also in terms of affordability - it is still cheapest in the industry. below are the points that may prove it :

1) d2h also gives food food and living foodz in their cheapest base pack.
2) all the channels of hindi music, hindi GECs, news channels, hindi movie channels are available in the cheapest base pack.

3) I m getting all english news channels in 254 rs. only which no other dth provider gives.
4) Highest base pack is cheapest in the industry. tata charges 630rs., adtv charges 603 rs and dish tv charges 500 rs. but d2h charges only 460 odd rs.

But some draw backs are especially for multiroom connection people :

1) Multiroom connection rates are way costly and it is costliest in the industry. d2h charges separately for hd add ons packs which no other dth service provider charges. poor strategy from d2h just to suck our money.
if u have the connection after 28th feb 2015 then u will get free otherwise pay separately for each connection.

2) multiroom connection prices are way costly. 1800 rs. for each new multiroom connection. this is also costliest among the industry.

3) pq and aq needs to be improved. especially aq which is extremely poor.

4) no special offers especially for existing customers where as tata and adtv provides special offers for their existing customers.

first of all i did not taunt u. i gave u the example of india and pakistan both.
second thing - old wine in a new bottle. u r doing this only. every time the same argument again and again.

so in that perspective i told whichever dth suits ur need, u shall purchase it. it will decrease ur headache and u will enjoy as per ur needs.
