If I buy an Airtel dth, will Set Top Box become my property or will it be on a lease? Customer care said it will become mine. Can anyone confirm as the customer care people didn't seem knowledgeable about it? What if I buy a Siti Cable? Will Set Top Box be my property after paying 1500 rs for it?

Its on lease. DTH company may take back the STB of you decide to discontinue their services.
If not return then they Will deactivate/lock permanently if company want.

Its not about only asking. What exactly is the rule book and Rule book says STB is property of DTH company.
I have read on the internet that only Airtel keeps asking for CPE if connection is not active. Cable is always good choice for me. Costwise cable is cheap atleast as of now.
