ofcourse bro, only one decoder is enough as the encryption applied is same to all the channels, just need a key to activate from zee end.

But finger print is different if we I accept your theory then like our Viewing Card no. all Zee, STAR and Sony channels will have same no. which is different in that case.

that fingerprint is applied from dth end hence same in all channels.
for star the fingerprint can be identified as the font is red color in white background. and next time note it.

People who run cable can clarify better here since I saw Zindagi's decoder then why they needed separate one to distribute channels if capable to carry with existing one ?

Also I am not getting a point that how many output ports are available in single decoder to distribute all channels ? Since many ports should be on, available if wants to distribute signal further.

Each channels requires a separate decoder, i have gone to my cable operator's control room and seen it many times. There r layers and stacks of decoders. U cannot run all channels of 1 broadcaster thru one decoder but yes u can say use a Zee Zindagi decoder for Zee TV or any other channel from Zee as it uses same encryption and other tech parameters . Infact u can scan all the channels u want from that sat but will get only ones authorized
