z cinema HD once used to crop the movies to telecast in full screen.It is simmilar . my tv is not set to full pixel thats why it is looking like that.

some films shot in widescreen have got black bars and to remove the black bars, currently cropping is the only option.BTW. Nice explanation Mr.A.N .
But I don't think it happens the same with 16:9 ratio.
Only the picture stretches upward and downwars for full screen viewing. You can check this in VLC media player. It would be better than zooming on TV.
21:9 ratio will always have black bars . because conventional TV is 16:9.some films shot in widescreen have got black bars and to remove the black bars, currently cropping is the only option.

And there is no need to crop it looks best in 21:9. Therefore currently all movies are shown in 21:9 in all channels.
