It can be the case that there might be the problem with the "Anaconda" movie. Since Anaconda Released long time back in 1997. We cannot compare the sound and picture quality of movies of that time to now..

I noticed couple of problems from same STB are:

some time in HD channels when there is conversation is going on that will not be heard and only background can be here. As my wife noticed this in Colors Hd and I noticed the same issue in Zee Cinema HD.

the second issue is, I am able to get the Dolby sound from HDMI cable, but some time I get only the Stereo. Yesterday night in Movies Now, when the Anaconda movie played the audio was heard from only front speaker not the center speaker. But when today morning I checked the same channel for some other movie I was able to get the Dolby sound properly.

Did any body came across these problems?

I have one doubt regarding your this post.

You mentioned "the audio was heard from only front speaker not the center speaker." Means you are talking about home theater system. ??
If yes then how have you connected your 2222 stb to home theater.??

Yes, as you have mentioned in your earlier reply, I have done the same. Yesterday I checked with a different movie on Movies Now and I was getting the Dolby.

I have Onkyo 3400 HTB, and I have connected as below:

D2H STB HDMI -> HTB -> TV.

So, I don't think there is any problem with the connection. As you have mentioned, there is possibilities of some of the movies won't have Dolby.

Let me check for some more time.

I just got my 2222 HD Box today.

Can you please tell me how can I get 1080i @60Hz resolution on my TV?

No matter what settings I save (720P or 480i) in the setup, the TV remains at 1080P @ 50Hz.

Please tell me what resolution you are getting on your TV with new box?

It's better you select the resolution setting on STB.

No matter what resolution I select on STB it remains the same. 1080p @50Hz. I think its a fault with 2222 box software. The box is very hot also. It can not be touched where the USB port is.

I am surprised how your TV have option of Resolution setting. In my Sony Bravia, it selects Resolution Automatically.


What I understand my TV pattern is it automatically selects resolution better than the Output from STB. So, forget about settings unless you are happy with the TV and STB Audio - Video Quality.

1. Can you please clarify if the STB 2222 has SPDIF (coaxial or optical) output like the earlier STB? I can not use Dolby through HDMI because my HT accepts only SPDIF input from other sources.

2. Could you get any clear information about upgrade plans? CCare are not clear on this. They advise me to shell out entire money and take a new connection. I still have several months of advance payment on my present connection (South Platinum HD)

3. Could you record with Dolby and play back with Dolby ( assuming I set the default to surround sound in the setup)
