It is absolutely true.I have many persons seen in my locality that they are getting all channels free. but when digitalization happened even MSO also paying amount to Broadcasters.

Only govt earn like allot for each subscribers. Because now they know how much are subscribing digital cable or DTH but not in case of analog cable because u can simply split a simple line to as much as u want.

Yes bro. In any case government is earning a lot. But for some taxes, broadcasters will never favor analog mode because they are loosing heavy revenue.

Some channels even ceased their operation in India citing reason as delay in digitization .

Well i have seen the package rates and channels provided by diff MSO's in DAS areas, even after digitization their packages r less costly and have more channels. Actually when digitized these MSO's have to pay 42 percent less to broadcasters than for NON DAS areas. So teir packages remain less costly, tis rule was made by TRAI. Same rule is for DTH but these DTH ops have many running costs like leasing transponders etc. so their investment is more and we get less benefit

One thing i can add in this that ARION STB is very good hardware very fast switching between channel at very small size half of TATA SKY STB.

But dish need some serious software upgrade the interface sucks and epg is not good too.

But Why is Analog cable paying 58% more charges as compated to DTH dino29 bro.

Govt. is the one who bring the concept of Entertainment to all and now because of this concept they not only legalize the connections but from it they getting a huge revenues as Entertainment Tax.

Could be because they have to sell dishtv and Siti Cable. But for new broadcasters they have to first own Digital Media then only they able to survive in this Digital World.
