"Airtel said it has made huge investments in setting up its telecom network. "We believe that VoIP services in their current form are not tenable for us as a business."

Then how come all operators are doing their business worldover...........
I think Airtel must be #1 in the world to introduce this anti-net neutrality move.......

Reports say that Airtel blantantly said, they will not roll back this move...

Only 75 MB at Rs. 75 o_O:mad:

This is day light robbery by airtel :bang: :beat2:

Lets see how Modi govt reacts & acts on this move.
The actions of Modi govt would decide moves, motives & directions about the future.........& how they want to govern............

Airtel's move will definitely impact the market and if Govt. didn't respond on this ruling ASAP then otherwise other Telecos too will joined them and ultimately it will buzz in the market and cost us.

Even the TRAI has given a go ahead to Airtel to charge VOIP.

“Let’s be clear on this. What the company plans to do is certainly not in conformity with net neutrality. But one cannot say the move is illegal today as there is no policy either by the government that net neutrality is our principle or a regulatory framework put in place by the regulator,” Khullar said. However, going ahead, the Trai will bring the over-the-top (OTT) players like Viber, Skype etc under some sort of regulations and is in the process of bringing out a consultation paper on the subject. -

Airtel move to charge VoIP calls not illegal: TRAI chief Rahul Khullar | The Indian Express

It is not expected from current Trai chairman Rahul Khullar to raise voice for customers taking into consideration his earlier actions................

Thats why now its more imp to see how & what Modi Sarkar does......

Just see some of the comments from readers of The Indian Express.............

They should not be allowed to charge the customers doubly for internet services - once for the generic internet packs and then for using voice chat apps over the internet.

If the government is serious about spreading the use of internet amongst the masses it should resist any such move by the internet service providers to charge doubly for what is essentially a data service.

Too bad we have geriatric morons running organizations like TRAI which are stuck in the dinosaur age. They probably don't understand that the Internet is a general purpose network which can carry all forms of data.

Did the TRAI allocate spectrum differentiating data used by Apps and data used by browser for browsing purpose ?????

Simple. Redirect all your Internet communication via VPN.

this is not illegal but this is immoral. hopefully net neutrality would be made into a law.

RIP Airtel.....

why the hell we use data then? i think it is high time to introduce mobile wi-fi router by the telecom company and run parallel service like in any other country.

I am not expecting anything harsh from Modi Sarkar against airtel.

or Modi wants to continue legacy of his predecessor of making Indya.........:geek:
