So far I understand tsunami hit Japan and not Korea. LG and Samsung both are Korean companies. I am also having LG lcd. Led is better than lcd with higher contrast ratio and low power consumption.

Other than all the gyaan available on Internet, it's the fact that all that cost in LED, LCD or Plasma is the panel.
And panel can go faulty at any pint of time. It may be at fault within weeks of purchase and if it's made with best caring, it might go perfect till 5-6 years.
So, forget about who is supplying what and who has bigger brand name. . Almost all are same.
Only thing matter is which company is providing maximum warranty and whose officials are reachable in real life.
So, after lot of googling and reading testimonials, I found that Samsung and LG are best reachable with best extended warranty offers where as Sony is the least cooperative . If anyone have any idea about other companies, pls share.

Only problem with plasma is that they are available only in bigger sizes. This time I am looking for smaller TV. Mostly 32"
So now you will have to choose between LG and Samsung?

Yes bro. One ex-LG engineer is saying that go for LG Whereas one of my friend's friend who runs franchisee of Vijay Sales electronic outlets is saying to go for Samsung. He only said that Samsung is supplying panel to most if the other companies like Sony, Panasonic. not sure about LG.
Another thing which is troubling my mind is if I go for HD ready TV, will it cause any problem for me watching 1080i and 1080p videos?
