WWE RAW RESULTS – 6/20/16

Dean Ambrose’s music hits, and he comes out to a big reception from the Phoenix, Arizona crowd. There is a podium on the stage that simply reads “Smackdown.” Ambrose smiles as he holds up the WWE World Heavyweight Championship in the ring. Ambrose says, “Oh boy, last night was a long night in Las Vegas, and I’m not even talking about the stuff I don’t remember.” Ambrose mentions the Cleveland Cavaliers winning the NBA Championship, which draws boos.Roman Reigns’ music hits, and he comes out to the stage to big boos from the crowd. There is also a “RAW” podium on the opposite side of the stage.

Seth Rollins’ music hits, and he comes out to a big reception screaming this isn’t how it works.

Shane McMahon’s music hits, and he comes out to a big reception. A “Shane O’Mac” chant breaks out. Shane congratulates Ambrose on not only winning the Money in the Bank Ladder Match, but also cashing in and becoming the WWE World Heavyweight Champion. As far as Rollins and Reigns goes, there is a simple solution to see who will face Ambrose. They should have a match. Rollins says they had the match last night. Shane can’t go around making decisions. Did he consult Stephanie? She wouldn’t approve. Shane says that’s a good point, so he’ll check. Shane pretends Stephanie is there and says she loves it. Stephanie isn’t here tonight, so he’s running the whole show. This WrestleMania worthy match between them isn’t being held off because the draft next month could scatter them, so we’ll do this match tonight! Rollins is furious and storms off.

Sami Zayn vs. Kevin Owens

Winner by Pinfall: Sami Zayn

John Laurinaitis’ music hits, and he comes out to a light reaction wearing a bright red suit and white shoes. Laurinaitis reminds the crowd who he is and mentions he was the #1 General Manager of RAW and Smackdown. You can see him on the WWE Network. The first live Smackdown on July 19 will feature the WWE Draft. Shane McMahon comes out. Laurinaitis says he’s talking to his WWE Universe. Shane asks what he’s doing out here. Laurinaitis says he’s talking to his WWE Universe and the people in the arena because Big Johnny is throwing his name in the hat to run Smackdown. Shane says that’ll never happen. We won’t have a corporate “yes man” running the show. This will be someone from the New Era that will represent change. It won’t be Laurinaitis or Stephanie. It’ll be him, Shane McMahon. Laurinaitis says Shane can run Smackdown (he runs to the RAW podium) and says he’ll run RAW. Shane says he’s embarrassing himself and sends him off. Laurinaitis screams, “People power” into the microphone and runs off.

Enzo Amore and Big Cass vs. The Vaudevillains

Winners by Pinfall: Enzo Amore and Big Cass

AJ Styles makes his way to the ring smiling as the crowd gives him a nice hand. He’ll be on the Stone Cold Podcast immediately following RAW. Styles loudly says he beat John Cena, which draws a mixed response from the crowd. It didn’t go down the way he dreamt it would. Gallows and Anderson had no business in his business. If The Club is going to continue together, he’s going to have those guys come out and give him a public apology. Styles calls them out and demands an apology.
Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows make their way to the ring looking quite befuddled. They get in the ring and look at Styles. Styles asks if they haven’t been through a lot together. Gallows says they’ve been all over the world. Styles says he had Cena right where he wanted him. He didn’t need their help. There will never be another “first time” match. Anderson says they were just trying to help. Styles says they gave John Cena an excuse. He signed his name on the dotted line. When they came out, they dragged his name through the mud. Styles asks if they realize that. Styles forces Anderson to look at him. Styles demands they look into his eyes and apologize. Anderson says, “AJ… man, I’m sorry.” Styles is pleased. Gallows looks upset, but he says, “I’m sorry, AJ. Ok? I’m sorry.” Styles says he needs them to apologize to one more person: John Cena himself. Styles then asks Cena to come out and accept this apology.
John Cena’s music hits, and he comes out to his traditional mixed reception. Cena stays at the top of the stage. Cena says he doesn’t need an apology. This one is easy. They had a contract and Styles broke it. Gallows says it’s not Styles’ fault. Styles had no idea they were coming out. Gallows apologizes to Cena. Anderson says Styles signed the contract last week. They did not. They took advantage of that fact. For that, he is sorry. Anderson manages to sound very sincere. Cena says they are fighting to survive in the WWE. Styles desperately needed a win and got one by any means necessary. Styles doesn’t understand that this is where he should be congratulated and moving on to the title, but he’s backpedaling with an apology to cover up the fact that he’s not as good as he says he is. Styles says Cena is using The Club as an excuse because he’s not as good as he says he is. Cena says he respects the win. Winning is the key to success in WWE. When you win night in and night out in the ring, that’s what a champion is made of. This is what Styles doesn’t get. Right up there with being a champion is living up to your word. As a champion, he knows you have your balls and your word. Last night, Styles proved he has neither.
Styles is furious. Styles says The Club did Cena a favor. The crowd chants for Cena. Styles doesn’t care what the crowd thinks. The Club did Cena a favor because they gave him an excuse. Styles will do him a favor. He’ll let him choose any member of The Club to fight. Cena says that’s easy: John Cena versus AJ Styles right now. Styles says he didn’t let him finish. Anyone in The Club except for himself. Styles says they’re the ones that got involved. They deserve to be punished. Besides, he has the Stone Cold Podcast. On top of that, he already beat Cena. Who will it be? Cena says it doesn’t matter. They’re riding really high off his win and feeling good about the apology.

Karl Anderson vs. John Cena

Winner by Disqualification: John Cena

AJ Styles and Luke Gallows double-team him before Anderson gets some punches in for good measure. The Club connects with Magic Killer. Styles directs traffic and tells them to get Cena up. Styles then lays Cena out with the Styles Clash.

Zack Ryder vs. Baron Corbin

Winner by Pinfall: Baron Corbin

WWE Women’s Championship Match

The Wyatt Family logo flashes on the screen. Braun Strowman and Erick Rowan are shown in their masks. Bray Wyatt walks into the frame and says, “Phoenix… we’re here.”Bray Wyatt comes out with his family to a huge ovation. The fireflies are out in full force. A “Welcome back” chant fires up. Wyatt asks if the crowd missed him, and he gets a massive pop for that. Wyatt says they have been locked away and punished, but through it all, they have never forgotten what they stand for. This is a promise as much as it is a warning: The Wyatt Family is as strong as it’s ever been!

Rusev w/ Lana vs. Titus O’Neil
Rusev won’t let O’Neil in the ring, but O’Neil finally gets in and punches him. They brawl in the ring, and the bell has yet to ring. Rusev powers him to the corner and shoulders away at him. O’Neil knees him in the face and big boots him down. Rusev gets out of the ring, and O’Neil powers him into the barricade. Rusev quickly sends him into the ring post, but O’Neil comes right back by sending him into the barricade, no selling the ring post shot. O’Neil yells at him before clotheslining him into the timekeeper’s area. Rusev escapes through the crowd.

#1 Contender’s Match for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship

Double Count-Out

Shane McMahon’s music hits after Lilian Garcia announces there wasn’t a winner. Shane says we need a #1 Contender for Battleground. Dean Ambrose says he’s going to tell Shane how he does things. He’ll fight them both in the same night. Shane says that’s the spirit of a fighting champion, but he’ll do him one better. It’ll be all three former members of The Shield fighting in a triple threat match at WWE Battleground!
Dean Ambrose taunts both men with the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. Reigns grabs him and turns him around, but Ambrose immediately lays him out with Dirty Deeds! WWE RAW RESULTS – 6/27/16

Dean Ambrose’s music hits, and the WWE Champion makes his way to the ring. AJ Styles’ music hits, and he comes out to a huge reception. The crowd chants “AJ Styles.” Styles says Rollins should listen to Ambrose because Battleground should have a triple threat match… only with him in the match. The crowd does a “YES” chant. Styles says he’s the guy that beat John Cena in a dream match. Take out Reigns and put him in the match and all will be right with the world. Ambrose says he doesn’t make the decisions around here, but Reigns is still in the match. Styles requests to be put in because he deserves it. It should be a Fatal Four-Way match. Ambrose says he doesn’t care because he’ll whoop them all. Rollins says this needs to be a one-on-one match.John Cena’s music hits, and the face that runs this place makes his way to the ring to a huge reception before the crowd begins to split on him. Cena says Dean Ambrose is a fighting champion. Ambrose will fight a friend, a foe, and a fraud. Will he fight the franchise? Maybe there’s a mixed opinion, but he’s held the title fifteen times. Fourteen years ago today he had his first WWE match, so this is his WWE birthday. If you’re really checking your facts, for the last twelve years he’s lived in Tampa. This gets a big reception. The most important thing is the last time he faced Dean Ambrose with a championship on the line, Cena won. The look on Ambrose’s face says times are changing, so he can prove it. At Battleground, it should be a Fatal Five-Way!

Stephanie McMahon’s music hits, and she comes out to barely any reception. She says she has a solution to their problem, but before she does, she wants to commiserate with Rollins. Therefore tonight, Seth Rollins will go one-on-one against John Cena. As for AJ Styles, he’ll go one-on-one against the champion Dean Ambrose. If they both win their matches, they’ll be added to the WWE Championship match at Battleground. She wishes everyone but Ambrose luck. Her music hits, and she walks off.

Paige and Sasha Banks vs. Charlotte and Dana Brooke

Winners by Submission: Paige and Sasha Banks

Rusev w/ Lana vs. Titus O’Neil

Winner by Count-Out: Titus O’Neil

If John Cena wins, he’ll be added to the WWE Title match at Battleground
Seth Rollins vs. John Cena

Winner by Pinfall: Seth Rollins

Two local talents vs. Enzo Amore and Big Cass

Winners by Pinfall: Enzo Amore and Big Cass

Summer Rae vs. Becky Lynch

Before the match begins, Becky leaves the ring and attacks Natalya on commentary. Becky punches away at her until the referee pulls her back. Natalya tries to retreat, but Becky wipes her out. Becky says Natalya has messed with the wrong girl.

The Highlight Reel with special guests Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens

Chris Jericho makes his way to the ring wearing his trademark scarf. The crowd gives him a mixed reception. Jericho says, “Quiet” over and over again until he really upsets the crowd. This is The Highlight Reel and they will be quiet because he has a lot to say tonight. This will be a wild one because his two guests have no regard for each other. They’re hell-bent on ruining their own careers even taking each other out at Money in the Bank allowing Dean Ambrose, the man that put 69 thumbtacks into his body, to win. They’re ruining their own lives and now his own. He’ll get to the bottom of it tonight. Jericho first introduces Kevin Owens to the ring. After Owens gets in the ring, Jericho introduces Sami Zayn to the ring.Owens and Zayn stare at each other in disgust.Jericho says this a huge match for Battleground. Jericho says Zayn is a terrible friend. He’s a terrible friend and a terrible example of what it takes to make it in WWE. Even though Owens will never be as great as him because he’s the best in the world at what he does, he’s still trying to follow his example. Zayn has his head up his rear end caring about what the fans think. The fact that Zayn doesn’t realize that makes him sick. It makes him want to slap his stupid idiot face, but he won’t because Owens will at Battleground. Their match is big, but not as big as what Jericho will do at Battleground. The match being announced on his show makes it bigger, so they’re welcome. Jericho then gives the crowd the gift of Jericho and tells them to drink it in. Zayn and Owens give him a double superkick. They stare at each other, and Owens simply walks off.

WWE Intercontinental Championship Match
The Miz (c) w/ Maryse vs. Demon Kane

Winner by Count-Out: Kane
The Miz is still the WWE Intercontinental Champion

Cesaro and Apollo Crews vs. Sheamus and Alberto Del Rio

Winners by Pinfall: Cesaro and Apollo Crews

The New Day does an absolutely hilarious mocking of The Wyatt Family’s “We’re here” video. They then come out dressed as The Wyatt Family. Kofi Kingston is Erick Rowan, Xavier Woods is Braun Strowman, and Big E is Bray Wyatt. Kingston says The Wyatt Family needs a big bowl of Booty O’s. They make sure you ain’t booty. Kingston says The Wyatts are intimidating, but the most intimidating thing about them is their hygiene. Big E says they smell like old rotten cabbage left on the highway in Tampa. Kingston says John Cena already got the local pop. Big E says he was born here at Tampa General Hospital. Kingston says the outfits The Wyatts wear are crazy. Who would wear this? Who? Who? Xavier Woods says they should wrap it up, but Kingston and Big E says this is a roast.

The Wyatt Family’s music hits, and the real Wyatt Family comes out to the stage. Woods is acting differently following his possible possession last week on RAW. Wyatt says all praise to the Power of Positivity. The masses line up like ravenous dogs because they tell them everything they want to hear. It is rare that what they want to hear is what they need to hear. Wyatt says the crowd can vilify him, but his purpose is to tell them what they need to hear. The world is not made up of unicorns and rainbows. It is a cruel world filled with dangerous people. How can the Power of Positivity help a man that lost his job and put food on the table for his starving children? Kingston says the Power of Positivity is not a lie: it’s a way of life. Big E says it’s a song and movement. It flows through your body. It’s something Wyatt would know nothing about. Wyatt asks Woods what he thinks. Woods gets a faraway look on his face. Wyatt says Woods looks shaken. Woods can confide and trust in him. Big E asks if Woods is fine. Wyatt says they’re just playing games, except in this game there are not winners or losers. There is only malice and destruction. In the end, every knee shall bow and every tongue will confess New Day Falls.

If AJ Styles wins, he’ll be added to the WWE Title match at Battleground
Dean Ambrose vs. AJ Styles

The Club makes their way to the ring, and Ambrose prepares for a fight. Styles turns him around and connects with a brainbuster for a near fall. John Cena runs down and takes out Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson. Styles wants a fight. Ambrose rolls up Styles, lets him roll through, and connects with Dirty Deeds for the win.

Winner by Pinfall: Dean Ambrose

The Club pulls John Cena off the apron and takes him out. Ambrose hobbles toward them. Seth Rollins gets in the ring and gives Ambrose a Pedigree. Cena tries to fight off Gallows and Anderson until Styles joins in and overwhelms him. Styles mounts Cena and punches away at him. Gallows and Anderson then give him the Magic Killer on the stage! The Club stands over Cena and talks trash. Back in the ring, Rollins gives Ambrose another Pedigree. Rollins picks up the WWE Championship and puts his foot on Ambrose while holding up the title. On the stage, The Club also raises up their arms.
